In a bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder, cinnamon, (clove), and salt.
In another bowl, whisk the oil with the sugar and orange juice (into which you must previously dissolve the baking soda).
Add the flour mix to the oil mix and fold together until you end up with a thick cake batter.
Add the walnuts (and raisins).
Spray a baking dish or cake tin with vegetable oil, pour the batter in and bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 °C/350-400°F for 30-40 minutes. Treat it just like any cake—use the low rack, test if it’s done with a toothpick, skewer, etc.
Let it cool down completely before you dust with powdered sugar (optional) and cut into it.
